We are situated just at Healey Corner, Market Street Whitworth. We are within walking distance to local parks and places of interest to visit with the children in our care.
All our practitioners are qualified to a minimum of level 3, hold a current Paediatric first aid qualification and are DBS checked.
We currently hold a gold award in “The Golden Grin” a government initiative to help combat tooth decay and bad eating habits in young children.

Shooting stars

In our Pre School room that caters for  children aged 3 years and over we believe that their early years are the most important years of their lives and therefore we strive to provide high quality childcare and education for all children that is appropriate to their individual needs. We ensure that we provide effective opportunities for all our children and feel that we have practitioners who understand that children develop rapidly during the early years – physically, intellectually, emotionally and socially and therefore plan and implement enabling environments for children to achieve their goals as children are entitled to provision that supports and extends knowledge, skills, understanding and confidence, and helps them to overcome any disadvantage. Our Practitioners ensure that all children feel included, secure and valued and build positive relationships with parents in order to work effectively with them and their children.

The manager has achieved the Early Years Practitioner, level 4 qualification as well as level 2 Forest School award and is supported by an experienced level 3 Deputy manager.  Together this enables staff to develop their own knowledge and understanding and be supported in their own development. The management team ensure that staff are supported and that they provide everything they can to help their children develop and achieve.

At small World Nurseries Ltd we encourage our children to reach their full potential. When your child first joins the setting we encourage you to discuss any areas of concern with us at the earliest opportunity.
We work with other professionals to provide the best possible care that we can and provide all children with the help and support that they need during their time here at Small World.
The Inclusion support teacher designated to our setting has worked with us for many years to promote inclusive practice in our setting ensuring we meet every child’s individual needs.

For some children with a special educational need or disability, more specialist involvement is required. We work closely with the appropriate professionals, as they provide specific advice, support and guidance to private day nurseries, playgroups and childminders in partnership with parents.
You can find more information about the support that Lancashire County Council can offer regarding SEND here.
