Professional support for
child development
Overall development of your child
We take pride in our structured yet playful environment, using the Early years foundation stage (EYFS) to guide us when planning stimulating activities that provide our children a world of opportunity to gain the confidence and knowledge they require to carry on with their educational journey through school.
The EYFS sets the standards for learning and development that we must meet.
More information can be found on the Foundation Years website, click here to access
To understand what the EYFS means for your child’s development click on the picture below for the document “What to expect when?” Guidance to your child’s learning and development in the early years .
Special Educational Needs and Disabilities
When your child first joins the setting we encourage you to discuss any areas of concern with us at the earliest opportunity.
We work with other professionals to provide the best possible care that we can and provide all children with the help and support that they need during their time here at Small World.
The Inclusion support teacher designated to our setting has worked with us for many years to promote inclusive practice in our setting ensuring we meet every child’s individual needs.
For some children with a special educational need or disability, more specialist involvement is required.
We work closely with the appropriate professionals, as they provide specific advice, support and guidance to private day nurseries, playgroups and childminders in partnership with parents. You can find our settings local offers below
